Here is exactly what you'll be making over the 6 week knit-along:
The Falling into Stitches Blanket comes in 2 sizes:
- Throw size: approximately 127 cm / 50” wide by 160 cm / 60” long
- Lapghan size: approximately 102 cm / 40” wide by 135 cm / 50” long
The blanket is made out of 12 different strip patterns worked on top of eachother (no joining or sewing here!) and the border is worked at the same time as the strips.
Designed in 3 main colors plus a neutral contrast color, the blanket can easily be worked up in just one or up to 13 colors. Making it a great scrap buster project.
Each section is separated with a simple contrast color divider section to add uniformity and a give the blanket a modern look.
The blanket is designed with chunky weight (category 5) wool yarn

WHAT IS A KNITALONG?
A knit-along is an event where knitters from around the world work on the same pattern together. They can take a lot of forms and shapes but the common thread is always a community helping each other and learning together.
If you’re new to knit-alongs, don’t worry! They might look intimidating but they are a great opportunity to learn and lots of fun!
WHEN
The Falling into Stitches Blanket Knitalong will run from Tuesday October 22 to Friday November 29, with new blanket sections being released every Tuesday and Friday.
The knitalong is free to join and patterns will be available for free to view on the blog.
WHERE
The event is held 100% virtually online, so you'll be able to join from the comfort of your couch!
After signing up for the free ticket, you'll get an email with all the knitalong details, a full schedule, material list and how to access the patterns and videos.
LEVEL
The knit-along blanket is designed for adventurous beginner level knitters looking to challenge themselves to move past basic knit and purls.
Step-by-step photo tutorials as well as videos and for applicable sections charts are provided for any special stitches featured.
The KAL is a great opportunity to get extra support and improve your knitting skills!
PATTERNS
The Falling into Stitches Blanket is made out of 12 unique sections, and a simple divider section to break them up.
The pattern for each section comes with written instructions and a video tutorial.
In addition, some sections also come with chart instructions where relevant.

MEET YOUR HOST
Hey! I'm Hortense
My mom taught me to knit, one summer when I was bored on the beach at age 10. From there my love (some would say obsession) of yarn was born and I never stopped stitching.
A few years ago I started to dig into the online world of yarn and discovered so many techniques, constructions and concepts I had never heard about before.
Slowly I started to move away from following patterns until 2018 when I finally launched my blog Knitting with Chopsticks where I share my easy knitting & crochet patterns.
My goal is to break down knitting and crochet so they become simple enough for you to create exactly what you want, the way you want it through my patterns, blog, ebooks, courses, the Stitching Squad and events like this one.
And blankets are the perfect place to start!

When is this happening?
We cast on Tuesday October 22 and new sections will be released every Tuesday and Friday by 8 am ET with the last section releasing on Friday November 29.
You’ll also be able to join our Facebook group as soon as you register, so you can join in on the fun right away!
What if I'm not able to keep up?
No worries! You're welcome to join us for the entire event, jump in late and catch up or just work a few sections while the live event is running.
The patterns are not going anywhere. After release they will remain available on the blog (with their video and other resources).
The knit-along schedule is designed to keep us all moving through the blanket together so I can best assist you section by section and to make sure you actually finish your blanket in time for the Holidays but you won't be "punished" if you don't!
We're here to have fun first and foremost!
Blankets aren't my thing, should I still join?
Although this is a blanket knit-along you can easily adapt each section to make smaller items like scarves or dishcloths and use the knit-along as a learning opportunity!
What materials do I need?
The blanket is designed in Chunky weight (5) WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Bulky yarn and 6.5 mm / US 10.5 knitting needles.
Once you signup for your free ticket you will get more detailed information about the materials needed, kit options and advice to pick your colors.
How long will I have access to the patterns?
Your free ticket gives you access to all the patterns on the ad-supported blog. After release all the patterns will remain available on the blog.
Once you signup for your free ticket you'll get a chance to upgrade to get an ad-free printable PDF pattern, ad-free access to all the videos as well as bonus sections and more

I just started knitting last week, is this for me?
The Falling into Stitches Blanket Knit-along was designed with adventurous beginners in mind, whether you've been knitting here and there for years or you just picked up needles for the first time a few weeks ago, you'll learn A TON during the knit-along.
As long as you know how to cast on and the knit and purl stitch I'd love to have you join us!
I've been knitting for a long time, should I join?
So have many others!
You'll probably already know a lot of the techniques shared during the knit-along but with so many knitters sharing their tips and tricks I would be very surprised you don't learn anything new. And you've probably not knitted all the blanket stitches and combinations of the blanket.
Plus, even if you're such an expert that you're not learning anything new, you will still have knitted a gorgeous fall throw.
I'm not on Facebook, can I still participate?
Yes! All the patterns will be accessible from the website while the community is held on Facebook. You will not be able to connect with other knitters as much without Facebook, but it's definitely not a requirement to participate.
I still have questions!
If you still have questions, I encourage you to go ahead and register. Your questions will likely be answered during the event or in the Facebook group, which you'll be able to join right away after grabbing your free ticket.
