WHEN
The Crochet Blanket Summit will run from Thursday September 19 to Sunday September 22, with a variety of classes to choose from each day.
The summit is free for the duration of the event, each lesson is available for free for 48h!
WHERE
The event is held 100% virtually online, so you'll be able to attend all the presentations from the comfort of your couch!
After signing up for the free ticket, you'll get an email with event details, a full schedule, and how to access and watch all the presentations.
CLASSES
There are 25+ classes taught by professional crochet designers with trainings on blanket math, choosing yarn & colors, blanket constructions, joining methods, graphgans and many more.
Each lesson is 20-25 minutes.
Your free ticket includes 48 hour access to each lesson from the time each one goes live.
We'll also have daily live Q&A panels with the designers (on Zoom) so you can get all your questions answered. Don't worry, replays of these live sessions will be made available too, we've got you covered.
COMMUNITY
Connect with fellow crocheters from all over the world inside the private Crochet Blanket Summit Facebook group!
Attend the live Q&A's (also available on Zoom), ask questions about the lessons or crochet blankets in general, connect with the designers and other attendees and show off your projects!

Hey! I'm Hortense
My mom taught me to knit, one summer when I was bored on the beach at age 10. From there my love (some would say obsession) of yarn was born and I never stopped stitching.
A few years ago I started to dig into the online world of yarn and discovered so many techniques, constructions and concepts I had never heard about before.
Slowly I started to move away from following patterns until 2018 when I finally launched my blog Knitting with Chopsticks where I share my easy knitting & crochet patterns.
My goal is to break down knitting and crochet so they become simple enough for you to create exactly what you want, the way you want it through my patterns, blog, ebooks, courses, the Stitching Squad and summits like this one.
And crochet blankets are the perfect place to start!

Instead of being general and either teaching stitches & techniques or giving you specific patterns to follow, the Crochet Blanket Summit is all about giving you the skills, knowledge and our expertise, so you can dream up and make your own crochet blanket projects.
We won't be able to show you how to execute each stitch, each construction and each technique that exists for crochet blankets, but my hope is to give you enough general blanket knowledge and an overview of what exists so you can dream up your crochet blanket projects and Google any specific stitch or technique you'd need.

The main portion of the event runs Thursday September 19 to Sunday September 22. You’ll also be able to join our private Facebook group as soon as you register, so you can join in on the fun right away!
Live classes and Q&A sessions will run from 9am to 4pm EST each day of the summit. Once you register for your free ticket you'll get the detailed schedule.
To avoid tech glitches, give you the best possible learning experience, and keep things easy for the speakers, the presentations are pre-recorded and will be released at each morning at 9am EST during the summit.
However, the speakers will be available for live Q&A sessions on Zoom and in the Facebook group to answer any questions you have! Once you register for your free ticket you'll get the detailed schedule.
The pre-recorded classes are only available for 48 hours with your free ticket. So I encourage you to join us live if you can!
However, if you’re not able to attend all of the classes live, go ahead and grab your free ticket, and you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade to the Crochet Blanket Superpack for extended access.
Yes!
Although the summit's topic is crochet blankets most of the skills, techniques and classes will apply to other areas of crochet just the same.
For example, crochet colorwork is a very popular technique for blankets but is also used in garments, accessories etc.
You don't need any specific materials to follow the classes.
In most of the classes, the designer will share her knowledge and expertise to help you make the best choices and plan your ideal crochet blanket projects. Therefore, I'd recommend a pen and paper to write down any ideas you have while watching the classes.
For the more hands-on classes teaching a specific skill or technique, I recommend having some worsted weight yarn (preferably in a lighter color) and a 4 or 5 mm / US G-6 or H-8 hook on hand to try out any new technique / skill during the class.
Your free ticket gives you 48 hours access to each of the presentations. If you need more time, you can always upgrade to the Crochet Blanket Superpack after registering, which will give you extended access to the classes as well as course notes for each class + premium bonuses from our speakers and more!
Each class is 20 to 25 minutes.
The Crochet Blanket Summit was designed with less experienced crocheters in mind, wether you've been crocheting here and there for years or you just picked up a hook for the first time a few days ago, you'll learn A TON about making crochet blankets during the summit.
As long as you know how to chain and work some basic stitches (single crochet and double crochet for example) I'd love to have you join us!
So have many of the designers!
You'll probably already know a lot of what's being shared during the summit as it has been planned with less experienced crocheters in mind, but I would be very surprised you didn't learn anything. I know I did when I organized the event!
Yes! All the presentations will be accessible from the website while the speakers' Q&A sessions are streamed to both Zoom and Facebook. You will not be able to win prizes and connect with other crocheters as much without Facebook, but it's definitely not a requirement to participate.
All the speakers for this event have been hand picked and the schedule is currently full. However, I'm open to additional affiliates or potential speakers for a next event.
