MEET YOUR HOSTS
Hey! I'm Hortense
My mom taught me to knit, one summer when I was bored on the beach at age 10. From there my love (some would say obsession) of yarn was born and I never stopped stitching.
Years later, I discovered the online world of yarn and realized just how many techniques, constructions, and ideas were out there. I drifted away from following patterns, and in 2018 I launched my blog, Knitting with Chopsticks, where I share my easy knitting and crochet designs.
My goal is to break down knitting and crochet so they become simple enough for you to create exactly what you want, the way you want it through my patterns, blog, ebooks, courses, the Stitching Squad and events like this one.
And blankets are the perfect place to start!
And I'm Agat
I learned to knit when I was 12 and later taught myself to crochet while job hunting after university.
I've always loved making things and keeping my hands busy, and designing patterns has become one of my favorite creative outlets.
I love designing modern crochet patterns.
My specialty is designing unique and different stitches in corner-to-corner method, which spares you the long beginning chain!
We’ve both been designing crochet-along blankets for a few years now, and after collaborating on projects like the Harmony Throw, Serenity Blanket, Tranquility Throw, and Blossoming Blanket, we figured… why not go all in?
The Rustling Leaves CAL is our first fully co-designed blanket, and we really mean co-designed. Each section may have started with one of us, but every part has both of our brains and hooks behind it.
Hortense brings a love for simple, clean structure. Agat adds delicate, elegant textures.
We even had to "translate" each other’s patterns as we went (turns out we write instructions completely differently), but the result is one unified design that blends the best of both our worlds.
We've poured everything we’ve learned over the past few years organizing crochet-alongs into making this one the best yet — not just the blanket, but the whole event.
Grab your ticket and join me for a crochet-along like no other where you'll discover new techniques and craft this beautiful blanket alongside crocheters around the world.

The Rustling Leaves Blanket is designed as a throw blanket, approximately 127 cm / 50” square. However, the center-out construction makes it very easy to adjust the size
The Rustling Leaves Blanket was designed with intermediary crocheters in mind. If you only just started crocheting a short while ago we recommend you start with one of our easier crochet-along blankets such as the Tidal Texture Throw, the Skybound Sampler Blanket or the Harmony Throw.
So have many others!
This blanket has been designed with intermediate to more advanced crocheters in mind. I would be very surprised you don't learn anything new. And you've probably not crocheted all the blanket stitches and combinations of the blanket.
Plus, even if you're such an expert that you're not learning anything new, you will still have crocheted a gorgeous fall-inspired throw.
Yes! All the patterns will be accessible from the website while the community is held on Facebook. You will not be able to connect with other crocheters as much without Facebook, but it's definitely not a requirement to participate.
If you still have questions, I encourage you to go ahead and register. Your questions will likely be answered during the event or in the Facebook group, which you'll be able to join right away after grabbing your free ticket.
However, if you need to ask me a question before registering, just send me an email at hortense@knittingwithchopsticks.com.
Join us to explore textured stitches, cables, filet, and more as you create a stunning center-out fall blanket, one section at a time, alongside crocheters from around the world.
